Health Coach 2019 – New Year, New You!
Oh Oh, Here we go again! New Year, New You! Right?!
Well, this is no resolution. It just might be a little something different to what you’re use to.
These days it seems like most of what comes around right after 2019 is just fad diets, quick fixes, and more food deprivation.
We all know that is not going to WORK!
So, what am I offering?
It’s time to make a choice for lasting change and make a real shift happen.
To move away from self-sabotage to self-care, to feel your very best.
When we say we want something – and then make sure it doesn’t happen.
I can already see you healthy and vibrant! It is your birthright and it’s time to claim it and own it for YOU!
I believe in you, and in your unconquerable spirit. But maybe you don’t yet and that’s ok.
That will change. You will emerge from self-doubt and self-sabotage to self-care and self-love! You will become that happy, healthy vital person I know you really are.
I am here to help you with health coaching (a more holistic approach), not just your traditional methods of just diet and exercise!
Let me tell you from my own personal and professional coaching experience, there IS no quick fix, but you CAN make lasting changes and enjoy delicious, real food, fruits and veggies that nourish your soul. When you truly listen to your body you can figure out what really works for you.
I will be taking a look at and supporting you in a number of different ways…
- Emotional Well Being
- Mental Health
- Your Physical Body
Personally, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions because I always end up being one of the 80 percent of people who abandon them by March. Just imagine me in my Pj’s with spoon in hand and a bucket of ice cream.
It’s hard to change habits, and there is a lot more going on in most cases than just some eating habits. After the whirlwind of the holidays, the added stress of trying to become the best version of yourself, it’s more than most people can take.
Health Coaching Programs 2019
Through one of my health coaching programs, you will immediately start to see a positive effect on all aspects of health and not just weight loss.
Our programs are designed to help you reach your ideal body weight with moderate intensity exercises.
The one thing that really helped me was staying consistent on being physically active.
As most health professionals will tell you there is a compound effect when you are doing any type of resistance training or exercises. All things happen through time.
Simple tricks can also make the difference, like adding lemon to your morning water. Or just cut out any processed foods and refined sugars.
Way back in 2007, the United States had the most overweight population in the English speaking world with over 74%! Canada came in 5th largest at 61%, Woah… what is happening here?
This obesity has to more chronic conditions and ultimately heart disease down the line.
But It’s NOT all Doom and Gloom!
I am Here to help!
I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat?
Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy.
As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance, and health.
Here Are 5 Tips to Make Your New Year New You Dream come True!
1. Sticking to a Goal
It could be anything! Just make sure it’s one that YOU want to work on and not just one that other people think you need to change. Your goal could be anything from weight loss to better eating habits, more mindfulness, improved emotional health, or better time management. Take some time to think about what bugs you the most in your life right now, and make it a goal to work on it.
When you don’t have a specific goal, it’s difficult to keep exercising or to track your progress. You want to track your goals to see how far you’ve come.
Similarly, if you have a goal that’s too far out of reach, Say getting back to the weight you were 20 years ago. Or fitting into a clothing size you wore in high school, that might be a little too overreaching.
2. Make yourself a priority
Taking time for ourselves doesn’t have to be done all at once. Find 15-minute intervals throughout the day to take a breather and engage in activities you like.
No excuses, this is about your commitment to yourself and your promise to make the space and time to realize your goal.
If you find that your energy is low, and your mind feels cluttered, shift what you are asking of yourself.
Give it a try: get a massage, or take a yoga class. Hit the grocery store alone. Sit at the naked spa with a bunch of other deserving moms (I have a friend who swears by this) or just simply grab a pile of blankets and crawl back into your own world for a little “me” time.
Ideally, you should be the most important person in your life, so it’s imperative that you learn to treat yourself that way. We will work on it together.
3. Drop the Bad, Feel the GOOD!
If it doesn’t serve you, let it go. Again, if it doesn’t serve you, let it go. Life is too short and way too uncertain to spend it surrounded by things that drain you. So we invite you to focus on things that make you feel loved, fulfilled, and happy! Surrounding yourself with people who fulfill you and not deplete you is vital. So why not try to surround yourself with only these sorts of people and things in the new year?
4. Practice Gratitude
Gratitude is the attitude! There’s always something to be grateful for — a healthy body, a home, a job, the sunshine, the flowers, friends, family. Instead of counting all the things that go wrong, count all the way things go right and watch things transform. Problems turn into opportunities and abundance becomes the name of the game. By focusing on what we have, we get more of that back from the universe, plus it feels good to be grateful! You can even start each day by making a list of things you’re grateful for in a gratitude journal. And don’t forget to tell your loved ones how thankful you are for them!
5. Start to Move Your Body!
Have you ever been to a yoga or fitness class and all of a sudden you feel super emotional like maybe you even start crying? It sounds crazy, but it happens! Our emotions live in our bodies, not our heads, and when we start to move our bodies, sometimes these feelings bubble to the surface. As scary as it can be, feeling your feelings is vital. One way to do this is through movement! This can be anything: a yoga class, a pole dancing class, an intense workout with weights at the gym, or even a long run.
Another fun way to get back into your body? Dancing! Turn on your favorite hip-shaking song and give yourself permission to dance the craziest, most soulful dance you’ve ever danced. Let loose and move to the beat. Sometimes this can bring up unexpected emotions, so just breathe into it and know it will all be okay.
6. Seek professional help
When trying to achieve a new goal or even revisiting one you’ve already tried to conquer, it can help to work with a healthcare professional, personal trainer, pilates instructor, nutritionist, meditation guru or join a class or group – you get the picture. It can make the process much easier (and in some cases, safer) in the beginning and help you get started by giving you direction/pointers. Working with a professional is typically more efficient too, as they can steer you away from common pitfalls they have seen time and again.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
